The most common issue with a smartphone is battery degradation. Every phone will experience some form of battery degradation, whether it's a used iPhone 11Pro or a new iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It's mainly due to the cycle count. But, what exactly is it? Today I will answer that question and show you how to look it up.

This article will cover the following:

  • What is a Cycle Count?

  • How to find the cycle count on the new iPhone 14 Pro Max

Let's begin by defining what cycle count is.

What is a Cycle Count?

These terms might be unfamiliar to you because they don't come up naturally in conversations. These terms are important and could have an impact on the performance of your new iPhone 14 Pro Max.

A new iPhone 14 PRO Max or any other iPhone/ Android is a measurement of how many times the battery was charged and discharged since its manufacture. You can adjust the cycle count to reflect factors such as how frequently you charge your phone and how long it takes to charge.

Although there is no standard way to define what constitutes a "cycle" for an iPhone 14 Pro Max (or any other phone), it is generally accepted that every full charge counts as one cycle.

You may be asking, "Why am I required to keep track? It's a legitimate question. However, it's essential to be able to answer this question. It's because sooner or later your phone will start to drain its charge.

It happens because the battery's health deteriorates over time. The more charges it has, the worse it will get. Apple claims that after 500 charges, any iPhone battery will be at 80%.

It might seem like a lot to some. It was once 100%. There has been a 20% battery degradation or 1/5th of overall battery health. Many people can keep their battery health at 96-100% for more than a year by limiting how many charge cycles.

It's essential to monitor the cycle count of your smartphone to make sure your battery lasts and performs well. You can use a variety of apps and tools to monitor your iPhone's cycle count, but they don't actually do any good.

If you notice signs of a battery that is experiencing reduced performance or decreased capacity, such as a shorter battery life than usual or sudden shutdowns, it is important that you have it examined by a professional. You can make sure your iPhone 14 Pro Max lasts many years if you take care of it.

Ok! Ok! A formula will be required to calculate the battery health of your phone. This is how it works:

(Cycle Countx20) / 500 = iPhone Capacity Loss

Simply enter the cycle count into the formula to calculate how much battery percentage will be lost and subtract that from overall battery health. Because it only went through 6 cycles, my phone has lost 0.25 percent of its battery health.
